When visitors leave comments on the Site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also known as a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to determine if you are using it. If you upload images to the Site, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the Site can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles on this Site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

How We Use Personal Information

We use personal information collected on our Site to operate and improve our website, respond to inquiries, process transactions, and maintain security.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.

We take reasonable measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss.

Our business is not subject to the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) because we do not meet the law’s thresholds for annual revenue or data practices. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. However, we remain committed to protecting your privacy.

Data Sharing

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

Data Retention

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can automatically recognize and approve any follow-up comments instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users who register on our Site (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Your Rights Over Your Data

If you have an account on this Site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
